From ESG commitments to action : RE100

Many leading global companies are looking beyond ESG commitments and pursuing RE100, a global initiative that brings together businesses committed to sourcing 100% renewable electricity across their operations.
For energy-intensive sectors such as data centres, RE100 has become an important benchmark as operators face rising power demand, increasing investor scrutiny, and pressure to deliver credible decarbonisation strategies.
For energy-intensive sectors like data centres, relying solely on short-term renewable energy certificates is often insufficient; operators increasingly require comprehensive solutions like power purchase agreements (PPAs), green tariffs, and transparent energy tracking to secure reliable, long-term power.
In Thailand, initiatives like the Utility Green Tariff (UGT) and Direct PPAs could help attract RE100-focused investors while supporting the country’s ambition to become a sustainable digital infrastructure hub.
