Building Information Modelling
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the design and management of facilities and assets within a digital environment using specialized computer software. Meinhardt has identified the many benefits that BIM brings to a project and have invested in state of the art computer programs to complement highly trained staff to deliver projects tailored to our clients’ needs for their particular output and information requirements.

Civil Infrastructure Development
Meinhardt is a leader in planning, designing, managing, and overseeing the construction of civil infrastructure. The company uses BIM technologies to produce and analyze virtual 3D models to advise on the design practicality and structural integrity of these projects. These models provide vital and more accurately detailed design criteria to the client in a shorter timeframe in comparison to traditional design and analysis methods.
Mechanical, Electrical & Sanitary Design Development
Meinhardt use BIM technology to design, analyze and coordinate sustainable mechanical and electrical systems in both new build and refurbishment projects. Meinhardt’s BIM expertise in such developments result in a reduction in site installation time, materials wastage and improves maintenance efficiency of the built asset. Meinhardt produce conceptual energy analysis reports of the virtual asset within the BIM model which assists the Company’s LEED experts. All of this results in a cost effective and time efficient approach for our clients during the design & build phase and lowers the buildings operational costs and improves efficiency of the built asset for building owners.
Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Common Outputs
Meinhardt have the capabilities to offer their clients the following BIM deliverables which are available for both separate and combined Civil and M&E projects.
2D design and construction drawings which are produced by Meinhardt directly from the 3D model within the BIM environment giving an exact representation of the 3D model resulting in highly accurately coordinated documents.
Clash detection reports are produced using BIM technology and highlight problems with the coordination of services, structure and architecture which are then addressed and resolved. This exercise potentially saves many man hours as clashes are identified during the design stage rather than becoming a site issue.
Room data sheets, schedules, BOQs and reports are directly linked to components within the 3D model and provide standard documents similar to those produced in a traditionally designed project. These documents are automatically generated within the BIM platform which saves time and eradicates the risk of human error.
4D Construction Scheduling is the process of adding a time factor to the BIM model for all exercises during the construction and/or installation stages of a project. This added dimension of BIM modeling assists in the programming of site works and can highlight future problems with the coordination of site works before they happen. This will give the project manager an opportunity to resolve the issue at an early stage before site works commence resulting more efficient time management during construction/installation.
Media output can be produced in the form of high resolution renders or animated movies showing various stages of the assets life cycle. This output gives all parties including stakeholders and building owners a visual understanding of how the building will look and perform with regards to practicality for access, circulation and general movement for residents/proprietors of the building. Animations can also be used for 4D constructions scheduling so that all parties can see in what order and how the installation will be programmed and constructed.
Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Infrastructure Developments
Meinhardt is a leader in planning, designing, managing, and overseeing the construction of civil and M&E infrastructure. From large public works projects such as airport, railways, dams, roads, ports and transit systems to commercial undertakings such as hotels & resorts, theme parks, and urban infrastructure, Meinhardt designs the infrastructure necessary to improve quality of life and sustain economic growth.
Infrastructure projects are often large-scale investments undertaken to improve the quality of life for entire communities. These projects are under the watchful eye of the public. The ability to ensure infrastructure projects are delivered on time and to budget is vital.
Meinhardt’s professional staff makes use of cutting edge technologies and the latest 3d software in the industry to deliver innovative design solutions. This saves client’s money and assures quality results, whilst meeting tight schedules on the most challenging of projects.
