Automated Car Parking System (ACP)

An Automated Car Parking System (ACP) is a technology that utilizes mechanical equipment and intelligent control systems to automatically store and retrieve vehicles, with the objective of improving land-use efficiency and minimizing architectural design constraints. The system design requires the definition of a design vehicle in terms of dimensional envelope and weight, as well as an analysis of peak parking demand and vehicle ingress–egress rates during peak periods. These parameters are used to determine system capacity, operational cycle time, and the appropriate number of vehicle transfer bays, together with the implementation of safety measures to protect users and property. Automated parking systems contribute to a reduction in accident risk, parking search time, and vehicular emissions within parking facilities. However, system operation must strictly comply with the prescribed operating requirements, and regular maintenance is essential to ensure reliable performance, safety, and long-term operational sustainability.
